Description
TB DRY® Powder Growth Media is terrific broth in a single powder formulation. It is specifically designed to give high yields of low copy plasmids and extremely high yields of high copy plasmids. The media is pH stabilized to increase bacterial growth and produce higher yields of plasmid DNA.
TB DRY® Powder Growth Media is formulated to increase cell density by as much as 4-7 times over cultures grown in standard LB Broth.
Cultures can be grown for up to 3 days to increase cell density without cell death. Prevents weekend trips to the lab to stop a culture.
All media components are guaranteed BSE-Free.
Instructions for Use
- Suspend 55 g in 1 L of deionized water.
- Autoclave for 15 - 30 minutes at 121°C.
- Mix immediately after autoclaving while still hot. The media may appear cloudy at first but will become clear when cooled to room temperature.

Higher Yields with TB DRY® Powder Growth Media

- Low copy plasmid yields using the plasmid pUC19 with a 10kb insert were 4 times higher when grown in TB DRY® Powder Growth Media (lanes 1 and 2) compared to LB Broth (lanes 3 and 4).

Great, Clean DNA.
This was my first time using a MO BIO product. I needed to generate a relatively large amount of a low copy plasmid. I used the MO BIO TB DRY® Powder Growth Media to grow 250 ml of E. coli containing my plasmid. Then I used the UltraClean® Maxi Plasmid Prep Kit and generated approximately 80 µg of my low copy plasmid. This was an excellent yield for this construct. The DNA was sent out for sequencing and so far our results from that are beautiful also. I strongly recommend the UltraClean® Maxi Plasmid Prep Kit for all plasmid preps.
