Figure 1. Isolation of high quality, intact total RNA from human stool using the PowerMicrobiome™ RNA Isolation Kit. Samples were collected from a healthy volunteer and total RNA was purified using the PowerMicrobiome™ RNA Isolation Kit. An Agilent Bioanalyzer RNA Nano kit chip was used to profile and quantify 1 µl of RNA. Clear 16S and 23S bands for prokaryotic rRNA were observed in the electrophoresis image (left) and are shown in detail in the electropherogram (right). Figure 2. Isolation of high quality total RNA from stool samples using the PowerMicrobiome™ RNA Isolation Kit. Fresh canine stool samples were collected in an experimental RNA preservation solution and transported to the lab at room temperature (lanes 2-3) or on ice (lanes 4-5). Sample collection and processing were performed on the same day. Total RNA was isolated using the PowerMicrobiome™ RNA Isolation Kit and 10 µl of each sample was examined on a 1% agarose gel.
