Description
The UltraClean® Plant DNA Isolation Kit is designed for fast and easy purification of total cellular DNA from plant cells and tissues. The bead beating technology used in this kit replaces cumbersome DNA isolation procedures such as CTAB, phenol, or chloroform extraction. Using the UltraClean® procedure, alcohol precipitation is not necessary - purified DNA is ready for immediate use.
Plant tissue samples are added to a bead beating tube containing beads, bead solution and lysis solution. The prinicipal is to lyse the tissue by a combination of heat, detergent, and mechanical force against specialized beads. The cellular components are lysed by mechanical action using a specially designed MO BIO Vortex Adapter on a standard vortex. From the lysed cells, the released DNA is bound to a silica spin filter. The filter is washed, and the DNA is recovered in certified DNA-free Tris buffer.
