Description
This LB Agar (Lennox formula) Powder Growth Media is pre-buffered to pH 7.0 and contains 5 g NaCl, 10 g tryptone, 5 g yeast extract and 15 agar per liter formulation. Our LB Agar (Lennox) Powder Growth Media is guaranteed BSE-Free. One kg makes 28.5 liters of LB agar.
Our Powdered Luria Broth and Agars are pre-mixed, pre-buffered homogenous dry powder formulations. Because our media is buffered at pH 7, higher and more consistent yields of DNA are obtained compared to standard media. Media powders and agars can be added to water for consistent batch to batch liquid media or preparation of agar plates. Pre-mixed media and agars are easy to use and save both time and hassle of preparing formulations from raw materials. All media components are guaranteed BSE-free.
Instructions for use:
- Suspend 35 g in 1 L of deionized water.
- Heat to boiling while stirring to dissolve ingredients.
- Autoclave for 15 - 30 minutes at 121°C.
- Cool solution to 50°C and dispense into sterile petri dishes.
