The DNA Molecular Weight Markers are ladders of defined sized with exact incremental steps between bands. The ladders are not intended for use in quantitative analysis. Each ladder is provided with a tube of 6X Gel Loading Buffer containing Bromophenol Blue and Xylene Cyanol. The fragments may be stained with ethidium bromide.
20 bp DNA Ladder: Twenty Five DNA fragments ranging from 20 bp-500 bp in 20 bp increments. A high intensity 200 bp band stands out to facilitate band identification. Storage buffer is TE. Recommended loading amount is 1.25 µl of 20 bp DNA Ladder plus 2.5 µl of 6X Gel Loading Buffer in a total volume of 15 µl.
100 bp DNA Ladder: Ten DNA fragments ranging from 100 bp-1000 bp in 100 bp increments. Storage buffer is TE. Recommended loading amount is 1.6 µl of 100 bp DNA Ladder plus 2.5 µl of 6X Gel Loading Buffer in a total volume of 15 µl.
1 kb DNA Ladder: Fifteen DNA fragments ranging from 1 kb-15 kb in 1 kb increments. A high intensity 5 kb band stands out to facilitate band identification. Recommended loading amount is 1.25 µl of 1 kb DNA Ladder plus 2.5 µl of 6X Gel Loading Buffer in a total volume of 15 µl.
