Description
The Gel Loading Buffer is a 10X solution of 0.2% Bromophenol blue dye. 0.2% Xylene cyanol dye and 30% glycerol in a Tris-EDTA buffer. It can be used to load DNA samples directly into the wells of an agarose or polyacrylamide gel.
The Gel Loading Buffer aids in monitoring the migration of DNA during an electrophoretic run. Bromophenol blue migrates at approximately 300 bp and Xylene cyanol migrates at 4000 bp.
