Protect your precious samples

The accuracy and validity of sensitive applications such as forensic crime studies and DNA paternity testing require elimination of any potential contaminant including human DNA from all lab solutions. Thus, it is critical that samples remain free of extraneous contaminating human DNA at all times. It is also recommended that nucleic acids be stored in buffered solutions such as TE rather than water to avoid damage due to prolonged storage in even mildly acidic solutions and to prevent degradation due to metal-dependent nucleases. DNA dissolved in distilled water often has a pH <5.0 and is at risk for depurination.

To address these needs, MO BIO has developed a series of reagents designed specifically to warrant this high level of purity. MO BIO's UltraClean® DNA-Free Reagents are certified human DNA-free to guarantee the cleanest, most stringently-tested reagents for experimentation and storage of your precious nucleic acid samples. Each lot of UltraClean® DNA-Free Reagent is tested for the presence of human DNA (targeting the human beta globin gene) by performing a PCR reaction.

Resulting PCR products are compared with various positive and negative controls and PCR inhibition reactions, visualized using agarose gel electrophoresis, and evaluated for nuclease activity. Only lots that are found free of detectable human genomic DNA contamination, nuclease activity, and PCR inhibition pass our stringent QC criteria are deemed "certified."

All UltraClean® DNA-Free Reagents are shipped with a "certified" Certificate of Analysis (C of A).

Storage Conditions

MO BIO UltraClean® DNA-Free Reagents are guaranteed to remain free of contaminating DNA and nucleases for 2½ years from date of manufacturing when unopened and properly stored at room temperature.
