The Culture Dish: a new tradition!

Welcome to the MO BIO Laboratories inaugural weekly blog, The Culture Dish, introducing what will be the first of many interesting and captivating articles, technical tips, news stories, and interviews with cutting edge scientists.

The aim of this blog is to give you a better idea of who we are at MO BIO, generate discussion on topics important to you and give you expert technical guidance on the issues that are giving you trouble in the lab.

So please do get involved. We welcome all of your suggestions for topics and scientists you are interested in hearing from.  We will bring you indepth technical answers and share with you our own insights and research experiences using the same products you do.

To receive automatic updates of new articles, simply register by clicking the RSS button on the left.

Here are ten reasons you won’t want to miss our weekly Dish:

10. Peek inside our heads. MO BIO scientists are going to share with you their own insights and technical tips when we use the kits here in our lab.

9. Get technical help, and become famous at the same time. You may see your technical email question turn into an article on this blog!

8. See how we work. When we release new products, we’ll give you a scientist’s view of the how we approach product development including how we take all of your comments and turn them into the kit you want.

7. Become involved with the MO BIO all-star team. When you visit our booth at conferences, you can talk to our scientists about what articles you liked and what kind of articles you’d like to see.

6. Get more citations. Send us your new publication (using a MO BIO product) and we will let the world know about your ground-breaking research. More readers = more citations.

5. Find new collaborations or places to post-doc.  We will posting interviews from cutting edge scientists in environmental and applied science and clinical sciences. You might meet someone doing exactly what you want to be doing.  MO BIO Labs is also always open to collaborating with customers who want to join forces and speed up their publications.

4. We won’t post fluff. This is a blog about applied science — unlike on some other science blogs there will be no navel-gazing, waffling or ego inflating. (oops – did I just say that?)

3. Special offers! We will be running special offers that are exclusive to this blog.  They might be hidden in the middle of articles, or  they might require you to solve a puzzle or answer a riddle. We hope this will be fun and profitable for you!

2. Never be bored again. It will give you something to do while you are incubating your samples in IRS. Or, when you are home and you need a break from writing, come over and be rejuventated at The Culture Dish!

1.Get inspiration. You might get a brilliant new idea for your current or future research project!

So bookmark The Culture Dish and register for our weekly updates via the RSS Feed. We’ll be discussing everything  from faster and more efficient ways to isolate DNA and RNA to our thoughts on hot papers in microbiology.

Thanks for visiting today and we look forward to hearing your feedback in the coming months!

  1. Suzanne,
That was cool when Dr. Craig Cary visited us yesterday from New Zealand. The work he is doing in Antarctica on microbial diversity is very interesting. I hope every scientist out there knows they are welcome to visit us whenever they are in town.
